FFees

For spot trading, Gate calculates the trading fee using the following formula:

Trading fee = trade amount × trading fee rate.

The fee rate depends on the user's VIP level and whether GT (GateToken) is used to pay trading fees.

Gate has 17 VIP levels, ranging from VIP0 to VIP16. For VIP0 users, the standard spot trading fee is 0.1% for makers and 0.1% for takers. When trading fees are paid with GT, the rate is reduced to 0.09% for both makers and takers.

Trading fees decrease as the VIP level increases. For example, the standard rates for VIP10 are 0.04% for makers and 0.058% for takers. At VIP15, the rates are 0% and 0.02%, respectively, while at VIP16 they are 0% for makers and 0.0175% for takers.

A user's VIP level is determined based on the conditions of Gate's VIP programme, including 30-day trading volume, asset balance, and average GT holdings. Current rates should be checked on Gate's official fee page, as the exchange may change them.

Perpetual futures also use a separate funding mechanism. The funding fee is not a trading fee charged by Gate and is calculated as follows:

Funding fee = position value × funding rate.

Funding payments are exchanged between holders of long and short positions depending on the current funding rate.

Futures Fees

Gate has the best premium fee across the network. The exchange has zero fees for pending orders, and there is also a chance to earn cfees.

For beginners, the exchange recommends using a Point card to reduce the fee to 30%. If the client is VIP11 or higher, Gate recommends using the default tiered rate.

The fee at the initial zero level for the maker is 0.02%, for the taker 0.05%. From level 11, there is no fee for makers. The minimum fee for the taker at level 16 is 0.015%.
